BRS Chief Pledges Round-the-Clock Water Supply for Hyderabad

Hyderabad: K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, unveiled an ambitious plan on Monday to deliver continuous drinking water to every residential household across Hyderabad, contingent on the party's return to government.
Speaking to party workers gathered in Kukatpalli, KTR highlighted the BRS government's track record of converting Telangana from an electricity-starved state into one with round-the-clock power availability. The party now intends to replicate this success in the water sector, he said.
Drawing comparisons to the pre-statehood era, KTR recalled the acute power deficits and water shortages that plagued residents under Congress administration in the unified state. Frequent agitations demanding solutions to electricity cuts and water scarcity marked that period, he noted.
The K. Chandrashekar Rao administration subsequently rolled out uninterrupted power supply and implemented Mission Bhagiratha, a large-scale initiative to extend piped water connections statewide, according to KTR.
"The individual responsible for providing Telangana with 24-hour electricity is KCR, and the individual who will deliver 24-hour drinking water to Hyderabad is also KCR," he stated, signalling the party's commitment to the initiative.
Should the BRS regain power, KTR pledged to personally supervise the programme's rollout.
In a separate thrust, KTR launched a scathing critique of the incumbent Congress administration, characterising it as having deceived voters with unachievable campaign commitments. He contended that Congress had fallen short on pledges regarding improved pension schemes and periodic cash transfers to women beneficiaries.
KTR also took aim at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, asserting that he was misappropriating credit for infrastructure built under BRS governance. According to KTR, Congress functionaries were inaugurating overpasses, medical facilities, and public works originally constructed by the previous administration while presenting them as fresh accomplishments.
The BRS leader pointed out that Hyderabad voters had decisively rejected Congress, denying the party any representation in the city during recent elections.
Turning to economic concerns, KTR blamed Congress policies for harming Hyderabad's property market and dampening construction momentum. This slowdown, he argued, had adversely affected hundreds of thousands of construction workers and labourers involved in structural work.
KTR assured workers of comprehensive backing, announcing that a subsequent BRS government would establish protective insurance and welfare initiatives for those in the construction sector.
The party will conduct its membership recruitment entirely through digital channels, KTR announced. The enrolment and formation of party committees will span approximately 50 to 60 days, with dedicated training scheduled for workers across levels.
KTR also briefed party functionaries on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He cautioned party workers to remain vigilant against suspected fraudulent voter registrations allegedly perpetrated by Congress and BJP. Party representatives at booth level were instructed to safeguard the voting eligibility of legitimate voters during the revision exercise.
