KRAFTON India Concludes Second Season of College Campus Esports Tour, Crowning First National Champions
Bengaluru — KRAFTON India has wrapped up the 2026 edition of its Esports College Campus Tour, with Season 2 establishing itself as the country's largest grassroots competitive gaming initiative. The programme reached 75,000 students across 128 colleges in cities spanning all three tiers, creating a structured competitive framework within India's higher education system.
The Grand Finals took place entirely online for the first time, bringing together 16 BGMI teams from four geographical zones—North, South, East, and West—for three days of competition. Teams competed across the maps Rondo, Erangel, and Miramar in a total of 18 matches. The championship was streamed live on KRAFTON India's YouTube channel.
The participating teams represented a cross-section of India's academic landscape. Alongside engineering colleges, the tournament featured squads from premier institutions including IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, IIM Indore, and IIIT Delhi, demonstrating the breadth of esports adoption in Indian campuses.
Gods Omen from Rishihood University in Sonipat, Haryana emerged victorious, accumulating 203 points across the tournament. The championship victory carried a prize purse of INR 2,00,000, the national title, and direct qualification to BMPS 2026. The runner-up position went to 9MM ESPORTS from G.B. Pant DSEU in New Delhi, while Endeavour Esports from IIT Bhubaneswar finished third. AnujtooOp of Gods Omen received the individual MVP award of INR 10,000.
Karan Pathak, Associate Director for Esports at KRAFTON India, commented on the results: "Gods Omen's victory is more than a championship win – it's proof that the next generation of competitive talent in India is ready. When a team outperforms squads from IITs and IIMs on the national stage, it tells you that esports is the great equaliser – purely about skill, strategy, and teamwork. Season 2 of the Campus Tour has been our most ambitious undertaking yet, and the quality we witnessed across 128 colleges and all the way through to these Grand Finals has exceeded every expectation. We are incredibly proud of every team, every player, and every institution that was part of this journey."
The championship represents KRAFTON India's effort to establish a credible, structured competitive pathway for emerging esports talent at the grassroots level. For many student-athletes, the tournament provided their first experience with organised, professional-level competitive play, complete with standardised rules and a defined progression route into KRAFTON's broader esports ecosystem.
Gods Omen's direct invitation to BMPS 2026 is contingent upon completing all required documentation and formalities within the timeline specified by KRAFTON India. Should the winning team be unable to meet these requirements, the slot will transfer to the next qualified team.
The total prize pool distributed across all 16 teams amounted to INR 5,00,000, with prizes ranging from INR 2,00,000 for first place to INR 5,000 for the 16th-placed team.
