BRS MLA Vivekanand Stresses Accuracy in Voter Roll Revision Drive

Hyderabad — K.P. Vivekanand, the BRS legislative party whip and MLA from Qutbullapur, has urged party functionaries and booth-level agents to exercise careful oversight during the voter list revision exercise to prevent inaccuracies.
Speaking at an awareness session convened at Adarsh Nagar Community Hall in the Ranga Reddy Nagar division of Qutbullapur constituency, Vivekanand emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance throughout the process. The meeting was convened following directives issued by BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao.
During the session, Vivekanand outlined the framework and significance of the Special Intensive Revision programme to party functionaries and booth-level agents. He noted that the Election Commission is executing the revision based on demographic data from 2002.
The exercise is designed to accomplish multiple objectives: verify the legitimacy of registered voters, eliminate duplicate registrations, identify voters who have permanently relocated, and root out fraudulent entries from the electoral rolls. Additionally, officials will use the process to map family voting units, register newly eligible voters, and rectify existing discrepancies in voter records.
Vivekanand called upon party leaders, booth-level agents, members of welfare associations, senior citizens, and young people to view the revision process as a civic duty and undertake public awareness initiatives. He specifically instructed party leadership to work collaboratively with election officials to guarantee effective execution of the revision programme.
The meeting also touched upon the BRS membership expansion campaign being spearheaded by K. Chandrashekar Rao. Vivekanand discussed the party's strategic roadmap for organizational consolidation and the establishment of new party structures.
The gathering was attended by former corporator Vijay Shekhar Goud, former division president Erva Shankaraiah, division general secretary Sudhakar, and representatives from women's wings and allied organizations.
