Education Key to Sustainable Development, Says Telangana Minister

Hyderabad: Telangana's Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has underscored education as the foundation for lasting social progress, emphasizing the state government's commitment to broadening access to quality learning opportunities under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's administration.
The minister's remarks came during the foundation stone ceremony for a Young India Integrated Residential School in Kondamallepally within Devarakonda constituency, held on Thursday alongside Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy. The facility, slated to serve 2,563 students, carries a project cost of ₹200 crore.
Speaking at the event, Komatireddy outlined plans to establish integrated residential schools across all constituencies in the state. These institutions are designed to provide inclusive learning environments that transcend caste and religious boundaries. Simultaneously, construction commenced on expansion work at a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya with a budgetary allocation of ₹80 lakh.
The minister instructed project officials and contractors to deliver the Kondamallepally school within twelve months, pledging timely fund disbursement. He noted that ₹20 crore has already been allocated for comparable educational initiatives in Nalgonda district.
Komatireddy also highlighted the government's initiative to bring Telangana Public Schools to international benchmarks, including enhanced transportation services mirroring those offered by private educational institutions, with provisions for direct home pickup and delivery. The state plans to scale educational infrastructure progressively based on community requirements.
On infrastructure development beyond education, the minister announced a four-lane highway project connecting Nalgonda to Dindi, valued at ₹324 crore. In Devarakonda constituency alone, road development works totaling ₹74 crore are in progress. The state government has floated tenders worth ₹13,000 crore for road construction projects statewide, with implementation expected to commence in May following contract finalization.
