Kodandaram Denies Seeking or Receiving Ministerial Offer from Congress

Hyderabad: M. Kodandaram has moved to dispel speculation about his political standing, asserting that he has neither requested a ministerial portfolio from Congress nor been offered one by the party.

Speaking informally with journalists on Wednesday, Kodandaram outlined his party's actual priorities, emphasizing that they are pursuing participation in governance through nominated positions rather than ministerial roles. He expressed optimism that party members would secure nominated posts in the coming period.

In his remarks, Kodandaram launched a critique of the previous BRS administration, describing an atmosphere of apprehension among the populace during its tenure. He characterized interactions with government officials during that period as fraught with anxiety and circumspection. He further contended that the prior government had withheld clearance for the Amarula Spoorthi Yatra.

Kodandaram underscored the necessity for political organizations to maintain active engagement with voters, cautioning that disconnection from the public threatens a party's viability. He noted that former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is currently undertaking efforts to reengage with constituents.

Commenting on recent statements from K. Kavitha, Kodandaram suggested that internal tensions within the BRS party were spilling into public discourse. He interpreted her remarks as implying that the party's structure centers excessively around a single family.

According to Kodandaram, political parties pursuing electoral success must adopt innovative strategies. His own party, he asserted, is committed to delivering substantive transformation to the electorate.

The party plans to field candidates in forthcoming elections and has begun identifying and preparing key constituencies for electoral contests ahead of time. Kodandaram reaffirmed his party's intention to secure a meaningful position in both governance structures and administrative operations.
