NEW DELHI — Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy convened with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday at Rail Bhavan to assess the status of critical railway ventures underway in Telangana.

The deliberations encompassed railway line electrification, construction of fresh rail corridors, overhaul of railway stations, and enhancement of traveller services throughout the state.

A key component of the agenda involved charting the modernization roadmap for 42 principal railway stations across Telangana as part of the state's broader railway development programme.

Addressing the media afterwards, Kishan Reddy highlighted his apprehensions regarding the functioning of Hyderabad's Multi-Modal Transport System. He called upon the Railways to standardize MMTS service schedules and bolster facilities available to daily commuters in the city.

The Union Minister indicated that Vaishnaw responded favourably to the points raised during their discussions. According to Kishan Reddy, the Railway Minister pledged to organize a focused meeting with relevant officials to fortify the MMTS infrastructure serving Hyderabad residents.

The two leaders also deliberated on envisioned rapid rail corridors and various ongoing railway initiatives aimed at expanding Telangana's transport infrastructure.

Kishan Reddy underscored the Union government's commitment to expediting railway infrastructure advancement in Telangana under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stewardship.

The review session additionally examined passenger-centric improvements and station modernization efforts slated for key railway facilities across the region. Discussions encompassed strategies to strengthen railway connectivity, complete electrification projects, and establish contemporary transport infrastructure throughout Telangana.
