Modi Government's Development Push Continues, Says Union Minister Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy underscored the Modi administration's sustained commitment to national development through infrastructure projects, social welfare schemes, and administrative reforms.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Kishan Reddy pointed to the Prime Minister's "Mann Ki Baat" monthly radio address as a key platform for engaging with the public on pressing social and economic matters. The minister noted that millions tune in via television, radio, and mobile devices to listen to these broadcasts.
As Prime Minister Modi approaches the completion of 12 years in office, Kishan Reddy credited him with introducing significant governance reforms and contemporary administrative practices. The minister pointed to substantial progress in infrastructure development over the past decade, including the expansion of national highways, enhancement of railway networks, and the introduction of new train services across the country.
The railway sector has undergone modernisation, with upgraded stations and incorporation of cutting-edge technology, the minister stated. He also highlighted a dramatic expansion in airport capacity, with the number of airports increasing from approximately 70 to nearly 150 during this period.
Welfare schemes reach millions
Kishan Reddy emphasised the role of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in extending road connectivity to remote villages that previously lacked reliable all-weather access. He also referenced government initiatives targeting tribal welfare, educational advancement, and healthcare services.
Under the national food security programme, approximately 83 crore beneficiaries receive five kilograms of free rice monthly, according to the minister. The Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme extends coverage of up to ₹5 lakh to eligible participants, he added.
India's economic trajectory
While acknowledging that several nations grapple with economic and social difficulties, Kishan Reddy asserted that India has sustained economic growth under Modi's stewardship. He expressed confidence that the government remains dedicated to transparent and accountable governance, and stressed that India's international standing has strengthened considerably in recent times.
The minister expressed gratitude for public backing of the Prime Minister and the central government, voicing optimism that citizens would continue supporting government initiatives moving forward.
