Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy initiated the Census 2027 self-enumeration drive in Telangana on Sunday, personally entering his information through the dedicated online platform.

Speaking at a media briefing convened by the Directorate of Census Operations, Telangana, the minister emphasized that self-enumeration represents a significant advancement in strengthening administrative frameworks and development planning. He underscored the importance of reliable information in shaping effective policies and facilitating equitable growth across the nation.

Kishan Reddy highlighted that the forthcoming census reflects a transition toward technology-enabled approaches, enhancing both transparency and operational efficiency. According to the minister, residents will have access to the self-enumeration platform between April 26 and May 10, 2026.

Following this phase, the House Listing Operations will commence on May 11 and continue through June 9, 2026, constituting the subsequent tier of information gathering. The minister noted that this comprehensive exercise would yield enhanced insights into the nation's socio-economic landscape.

Appealing to the public for robust participation in the Census 2027 self-enumeration process, Kishan Reddy stressed the significance of furnishing precise particulars. He linked each data element to national advancement and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's objective of establishing a prosperous India.

Bharathi Holikeri elaborated on the mechanics of the self-enumeration system, explaining that it permits households to furnish their particulars directly via the designated online interface. She assured that all information gathered would be safeguarded with complete confidentiality.

Upon submission through the platform, residents will receive a Self-Enumeration ID, which will subsequently undergo verification by census enumerators, Holikeri explained. Officials advocated for adopting the digital mechanism to expedite the enumeration process and enhance participation efficiency.
