Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy has underscored the significance of the Aushadhi Express in bolstering Hyderabad's pharmaceutical sector through enhanced cold-chain infrastructure.

The refrigerated container rake service connects ICD Sanathnagar with JNPT Mumbai, facilitating the transport of critical medications under strictly maintained temperature conditions. According to Kishan Reddy, this dedicated logistics solution will deliver multiple operational advantages for the region's pharma industry.

The initiative is projected to compress shipping timelines and curtail transportation expenses while simultaneously reducing product loss en route. Pharmaceutical clusters across Genome Valley, Jeedimetla, Patancheru, and Mucherla are expected to benefit significantly from improved export dependability through this service.

Currently, the Aushadhi Express operates on a weekly schedule. However, given escalating demand, authorities are preparing to ramp up service frequency to two rakes per week.

The minister characterised the project as emblematic of strategic infrastructure development championed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration. He contended that such ventures are propelling regional economic advancement and consolidating India's standing as a premier global pharmaceutical manufacturing centre.
