Hyderabad: On the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day, Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao remembered those who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana movement. He extended his greetings to residents of the state and Telangana diaspora communities worldwide.

In his remarks, KCR highlighted the long struggle that culminated in statehood through democratic processes and parliamentary channels. He noted that the people of Telangana overcame prolonged marginalization and numerous hurdles to achieve self-governance.

According to KCR, the state had endured systemic neglect during the period of unified administration. The establishment of Telangana as a separate state, he argued, fundamentally altered its trajectory. He pointed out that the state's subsequent development has vindicated those who had questioned whether Telangana could thrive independently.

A decade of transformative growth

Reflecting on the ten years since formation, KCR asserted that Telangana has achieved substantial progress across multiple domains. He characterized the state as having emerged among the nation's leading performers during this span.

Notable advancements in irrigation infrastructure, water supply, power generation, farming, schooling and medical services have set benchmarks for other states, KCR said. He attributed these accomplishments to governance under the BRS administration.

The BRS leader noted that previously arid regions have been converted into productive agricultural lands. Under the previous government's stewardship, cultivation expanded across one crore acres, he stated, positioning Telangana as an agricultural powerhouse.

Calls for vigilance and continued commitment

KCR appealed to citizens to remain vigilant in preserving the state's distinctive character and developmental gains. He cautioned that the progress made must not face reversal, describing protection of Telangana as a collective endeavor.

The BRS president reiterated his party's dedication to the state's welfare and urged the incumbent administration to maintain fidelity to the principles underlying the statehood movement. The government should persist in building upon the transformative work of the previous decade, he said.

Emphasizing governance centered on citizen welfare, KCR called upon authorities to enhance quality of life across all communities. He urged the government to honor its commitments to the public, asserting that genuine fulfillment of these pledges would strengthen public trust.

KCR specifically advocated for sustained attention to farmer prosperity and continuous support for agricultural advancement. On State Formation Day, he expressed confidence that Telangana would maintain its developmental momentum, and wished all citizens—particularly farmers and workers—prosperity, contentment, robust health and overall well-being.
