Kalvakuntla Kavitha Unveils Telangana Rakshana Sena's Vision for Welfare and Political Change

Hyderabad: At a press conference held at the Press Club in Basheer Bagh, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of the Telangana Rakshana Sena, laid out the organization's comprehensive agenda and future direction.

Kavitha announced that the Telangana Rakshana Sena would transition into a non-governmental organization with a primary focus on engaging young people. The group, she stated, would function as an independent voice holding those in power accountable.

The organization's strategy centers on advancing inclusive development throughout Telangana. Through an initiative called Panchajanyam, Kavitha said the group plans to extend its reach across the state. Among its commitments are free medical services for economically disadvantaged sections of society irrespective of the nature of their ailments, alongside quality free education and healthcare provisions. Additionally, the organization intends to generate one lakh supernumerary positions for activists involved in the Telangana movement.

Kavitha took aim at both the national and state administrations regarding paddy procurement policies, highlighting the hardships faced by farmers. She noted that cultivators endure prolonged waiting periods at procurement centers, with some even losing their lives in the process. She criticized the current state of employment opportunities, characterizing them as hollow given the failure to honor earlier commitments. Kavitha assured that her organization would ensure farmers do not suffer losses when selling paddy should it gain power.

Drawing a personal connection to governance, Kavitha expressed her desire to serve the people with maternal care. She condemned negative commentary directed at her on digital platforms, attributing the deterioration of governance standards to an erosion of compassion in administration.

Kavitha highlighted infrastructure shortcomings affecting marginalized communities, pointing to the absence of ramps and dedicated sanitation facilities for people with disabilities within the state Secretariat. She further noted that the state transport authority has not implemented free bus services for this demographic.

Turning to political matters, Kavitha criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, asserting that while he hails from Telangana, his governance relies heavily on guidance from Delhi. She alleged that the government has fallen short on its electoral promises, particularly regarding minority welfare, provisions under the SC and ST sub-plan, overseas scholarship programs, and reservation policies. The organization, she stated, would champion the cause of displaced persons and extend legal assistance to them.

Kavitha drew attention to the electoral timeline, noting that while elections typically occur after 800 days, the current schedule has compressed this to approximately 100 days. She indicated that her organization would intensify its efforts during this condensed period.

Kavitha made clear that the Telangana Rakshana Sena's plans are aimed at removing the Congress government from power.
