TRS Chief Kavitha Raises Concerns Over Stree Nidhi Management Irregularities

Hyderabad: K. Kavitha, chief of the Telangana Rakshana Sena, has alleged that Stree Nidhi has devolved into a platform for institutional irregularities, undermining its intended mission of advancing women's economic independence.

At the centre of Kavitha's allegations is the managing director, who she claims has maintained operational control over the institution for approximately 14 years following his retirement. Kavitha contends that this official has been instrumental in orchestrating various procedural violations and is now attempting to secure the position of ex-officio chairman through non-transparent channels.

Kavitha further asserted that officials have prepared arrangements to ratify this appointment during a staff gathering scheduled for May 16. She alleged that the managing director is seeking to consolidate his hold on the institution before his official tenure concludes on May 23.

The controversy has sparked political criticism directed at the Congress-led state government. Kavitha has censured the administration for what she characterises as a neglect of jobless citizens while simultaneously permitting irregular staffing practices in senior roles. She has specifically called upon Minister Seethakka to address the Stree Nidhi-related concerns publicly.

Kavitha has petitioned the government to initiate action against the managing director and establish robust mechanisms ensuring transparent recruitment. She has additionally urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to issue directives guaranteeing clarity and accountability in both appointment processes and institutional management.
