BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy Claims Conspiracy in Karimnagar Camp Office Attack

Hyderabad: A political dispute has escalated into accusations of deliberate provocation after an attack on a government camp office in Karimnagar. BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy has levelled charges of conspiracy, pointing fingers at Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

The confrontation began when Bandi Sanjay publicly questioned whether KTR would submit to drug testing. In response, Kaushik Reddy alleged that the Union Minister himself consumed drugs mixed with tobacco. These inflammatory exchanges preceded the assault on the camp office.

Following the remarks, BJP workers congregated outside the premises and allegedly made an attempt to breach the office. Protesters subsequently forced their way inside, where they reportedly destroyed vehicles and damaged furniture.

In media interactions after the incident, Kaushik Reddy attributed responsibility for the attack to Bandi Sanjay and the Chief Minister, asserting they had orchestrated the violence. He maintained that his own comments were merely a reaction to statements made by Bandi Sanjay concerning KTR and drug-related allegations.

The MLA disclosed that he had previously informed officials of potential threats to his personal safety. He further alleged that BJP workers were equipped with sticks, knives, and petrol bombs during the assault.

Kaushik Reddy raised questions about the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the Karimnagar district and criticised authorities for their failure to maintain order. He emphasised that his objection was limited to what he characterised as improper comments targeting KTR.

In a bid to counter accusations that he incited the violence, the MLA stated his willingness to offer a public apology should anyone demonstrate that he deliberately provoked the incident. He also voiced concern about the security of elected representatives in the state, questioning how citizens could expect safety if lawmakers themselves lacked adequate protection.

The BRS leader interpreted the episode as evidence of political coordination between Revanth Reddy and Bandi Sanjay.
