GHMC Chief Completes Census 2027 Self-Registration, Calls on Hyderabad Residents to Participate

Hyderabad's civic administration is stepping up its push for public participation in Census 2027, with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R. V. Karnan leading by example.

On Monday, Karnan completed his own census data submission using the self-enumeration facility, demonstrating the straightforward nature of the process. He subsequently appealed to residents across the city to register their household information through the digital portal.

The commissioner emphasized that widespread participation would strengthen the city's capacity to plan services and infrastructure more effectively. He noted that the online submission system offers convenience and flexibility, allowing residents to complete their registration without time constraints or delays.

Highlighting the benefits of accurate census data, Karnan stressed that comprehensive enumeration ensures every citizen is accounted for in municipal decision-making and urban development initiatives. He characterized the digital platform as simple, secure, and user-friendly.

The GHMC chief appealed to households to complete their self-enumeration at the earliest, describing public cooperation as essential to effective urban governance. According to Karnan, the enumeration exercise represents a critical opportunity for citizens to contribute directly to their city's growth and improvement in civic services.

Officials are encouraging residents to spare a few minutes to provide their details through the official portal, with the commissioner's own participation serving as a call to action for broader community engagement in the census process.
