Karimnagar police have successfully resolved the PMJ jewellery robbery case in Jyothinagar, leading to the arrest of three individuals connected to a cross-state criminal network.

Police Commissioner Ghaus Alam characterised the accused as members of a hazardous interstate criminal outfit. The Commissioner noted that the police department treated the PMJ jewellery investigation with utmost priority and ultimately solved it through collaborative investigative efforts.

Inquiries revealed that the heist was orchestrated by Subodh Singh, a notorious criminal alias "The Golden Thief," who directed operations from a prison facility in Bihar.

The primary suspect, Raghunath Karmakar also known as Jagir Singh, was apprehended along with accomplices Ravish Kumar and Mehtab Khan.

Authorities recovered Rs. 51,000 in currency, a pair of mobile phones, two SIM cards, and counterfeit Aadhaar cards during the arrest of the gang members.

According to the Commissioner, the suspects arrived in Telangana approximately two months ahead of the robbery. They conducted surveillance operations across Khammam, Siddipet, Peddapalli, and Karimnagar in preparation for the theft.

To evade law enforcement detection, the accused employed forged motorcycle registration plates and fabricated identification documents.

The robbery took place on May 3 when gang members forcibly entered the PMJ jewellery establishment and intimidated four employees with weapons. When staff members attempted to resist, the perpetrators opened fire.

The stolen merchandise included 161.4 tolas of gold and 112 carats of diamonds, valued collectively at approximately Rs. 82.02 lakh.

Police Commissioner Alam announced that five dedicated investigation teams have been constituted to locate the remaining fugitives and retrieve the purloined valuables.

The Commissioner pledged to the business community that the remaining accused would be apprehended expeditiously and that security protocols in commercial zones would be enhanced.
