Karimnagar Rural Police have arrested two individuals suspected of carrying out a series of house burglaries across the region, leading to the recovery of stolen precious metals, mobile phones, and vehicles.

The suspects, identified as M.D. Mohammed and Mohammed Moin, hail from Bommakal and Chintakunta respectively. According to Circle Inspector Niranjan Reddy, the pair had engaged in criminal activities over an extended period, with theft emerging as their primary means to finance an extravagant lifestyle.

The investigation revealed that the accused targeted a residence in Choppadandi for a gold theft approximately a year ago. Subsequently, they allegedly perpetrated break-ins across multiple localities including Vijayanagar Colony, Citizen Colony, and Bommakal, police said.

Authorities discovered that portions of the pilfered gold had already been disposed of locally in Karimnagar. The accused were in the process of arranging the sale of additional stolen gold in Nanded when they came under police surveillance.

Officers spotted the duo behaving suspiciously near Thigalaguttapalli railway station while travelling in an auto that had reportedly been used in the thefts. Following their detention and subsequent interrogation, both men admitted to the charges.

The police recovery included seven tolas and three grams of gold, 90 grams of silver, two mobile phones, and two autos. The accused have been remanded in custody pending further proceedings.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Vision Kumar commended the rural police team for their swift resolution of the case.
