Minister Emphasizes Need to Strengthen Seva Dal Amid Shifting Political Values

Hyderabad — Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has underscored the importance of the Seva Dal training camp as a platform for cultivating discipline and commitment to service among party workers.

Speaking at the 'Samrth' training camp held at Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad under Congress Seva Dal's banner, the Minister highlighted how Seva Dal volunteers have consistently championed public service since India's independence movement through to the present day. He noted their role as intermediaries in communicating party values to ordinary citizens.

"Such training initiatives foster confidence within the workforce, which in turn strengthens our organisational framework," Krishnao Rao remarked.

The Minister expressed concern about contemporary political trends, pointing to a marked shift toward individualism. He observed that the prevailing mindset of personal interest—"I and mine"—has gained ground at the expense of collective consciousness and the "we and ours" ethos that once defined public life.

"Politics today is increasingly shaped by monetary considerations, while the commitment to selfless service continues to diminish," he stated. He credited dedicated leaders and Seva Dal volunteers with preserving societal values despite these headwinds, calling on workers to remain steadfast in upholding these principles.

The Minister also addressed the challenge of misinformation in the digital sphere, emphasizing that party workers must be equipped to counter false narratives and propaganda circulated by political opponents on social media platforms.

Acknowledging the contributions of active Seva Dal workers, Krishnao Rao pledged to ensure their recognition and vowed to offer opportunities in nominated positions to those demonstrating exceptional dedication. He framed these measures as essential to deepening organisational commitment and encouraged workers to persist in their service to the community with unwavering resolve.
