Hyderabad: State Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has underscored the government's commitment to dismantling the middleman system and expediting the resolution of citizen grievances through transparent and accountable administration.

Addressing officials at the district-level Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme held Friday at the Wanaparthy Collectorate, the Minister cautioned against any laxity in processing public petitions and emphasized that timely, responsive governance embodies the essence of Praja Palana—citizen-centered governance.

The event brought together Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, SP Sunitha Reddy, Additional Collector Khimya Naik, and Additional SP Rajesh Meena.

MLA Tudi Megha Reddy announced a significant infrastructure initiative, revealing plans to establish an Integrated School within the constituency backed by ₹200 crore in investment, aimed at bolstering the region's educational facilities.

Minister Rao highlighted that the administration led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has maintained continuity with established welfare programmes while simultaneously rolling out fresh schemes across education, healthcare, and administrative services. He instructed officials to expedite the processing of applications pertaining to welfare entitlements and land-related matters, with particular emphasis on the Bhu Bharati land survey initiative and the Indiramma Housing scheme. The Minister also counselled beneficiaries to construct homes within sanctioned budgetary parameters to prevent financial hardship.

District Collector Adarsh Surabhi presented an overview of welfare implementation across Wanaparthy. The district has waived ₹491 crore in agricultural loans for 61,687 farmers, while providing ₹140 crore in investment assistance to 1,83,839 farmers under the Rythu Bharosa programme. During the Kharif 2025-26 season, paddy procurement was completed for 50,585 farmers.

On social welfare measures, the Collector reported that 73,214 new ration cards were issued and 84,830 households received free 200-unit electricity benefits under the Gruha Jyothi scheme. Additionally, 6,094 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned, and ₹28 crore in interest-free loans were distributed among 8,258 Self Help Groups.

Education outcomes in the district have strengthened notably, with the secondary school certificate pass rate reaching 97 per cent, positioning the district at 19th rank statewide—a development the Collector attributed to government education reforms.

Under the Bala Bharosa initiative, welfare and health officials distributed hearing aids to 16 children. Women's federations from Wanaparthy and Chinnambavi mandals received buses through the Indira Mahila Shakti programme, while the Agriculture Department supplied green manure and seeds to farming communities.

The programme concluded with senior officials touring departmental exhibition stalls and photographic displays set up at the Collectorate, which documented the state's welfare schemes and development projects.
