JD Institute of Fashion Technology has unveiled an expanded suite of academic offerings spanning design, luxury, branding, entrepreneurship and business innovation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The initiative marks a significant step in the institution's evolution, supported by the establishment of a dedicated Department of Design focused on cross-disciplinary education and industry partnerships.

The expansion reflects shifting market demands, with employers increasingly seeking graduates who combine creative capabilities with strategic thinking and commercial awareness.

Undergraduate Offerings

The new undergraduate programmes include four design-focused degrees: B.Des in Visual Communication, B.Des in Communication Design, B.Des in Product Design, and B.Des in Fashion Communication & Styling. The institute has also introduced four business-oriented bachelor's degrees: BBA in Design Entrepreneurship & Analytics (DEA), BBA in Luxury Brand Management, BBA in Design Management, and BBA in Fashion Business & PR.

Postgraduate Programmes

At the postgraduate level, the institute has launched MBA in Design Entrepreneurship & Analytics (DEA) and MBA in Luxury, Branding & Strategy (LBDS).

Department Focus

The newly established Department of Design will prioritize curriculum development, expanded industry collaboration, and opportunities for students to work across different disciplines. This structure aims to equip graduates with the versatility needed to navigate contemporary creative sectors.

Rinesh Dalal, Director at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, underscored the rationale behind the initiative. "Future-ready education must go beyond silos. Today's creative professionals are expected to integrate design thinking with business acumen, communication and technology. Through these new programmes and the Department of Design, we aim to provide students with applied learning, industry exposure and the agility required to succeed in a rapidly evolving creative economy," he said.

The launch arrives as digital transformation, evolving consumer preferences in luxury markets, and content-driven business models reshape creative industries, creating sustained demand for specialized talent with formal training in these areas.
