ISB and Emeritus Launch Venture Capital and Private Equity Programme for Investment Professionals

June 1, 2026

India's private capital sector is undergoing significant transformation, with investment firms increasingly prioritising operational value creation, governance, and sustainable returns over financial engineering alone. Recent research from Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company demonstrates that organisations moving beyond pure financial tactics achieve substantially higher operational value creation and portfolio resilience.

In response to this shift, ISB Executive Education has partnered with Emeritus to launch a Venture Capital and Private Equity Programme aimed at equipping investment leaders with the strategic capabilities and operational frameworks required in today's landscape.

The nature of investment leadership itself has fundamentally changed. While financial modelling remains a core competency, modern investors must now navigate operations, interpret market dynamics, and understand corporate governance. Investment professionals are increasingly expected to bridge traditional finance with strategic leadership, connecting capital capabilities to portfolio strategy and translating analytical insights into tangible business outcomes.

The ISB-Emeritus programme reflects this evolution by taking a holistic approach to investment management. Rather than teaching isolated financial tactics, the curriculum guides professionals through the complete investment journey—from sourcing and structuring through management to exit. The programme emphasises end-to-end value creation, integrating operational judgement with leadership development.

Participants will develop competencies across several critical areas. These include applying strategic frameworks for value creation throughout the investment lifecycle, designing comprehensive deal sourcing and due diligence processes, leveraging operational judgement for investment structuring and portfolio governance, and evaluating exit strategies such as initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. The curriculum also addresses Indian regulatory frameworks and market dynamics, with financial analytics integrated throughout.

The learning experience combines flexibility with practical application. The online format includes live sessions, masterclasses, and office hours accessible from anywhere. Participants gain access to industry tools through a one-year VCCircle Premium membership and benefit from frameworks developed by globally recognised faculty delivered through interactive sessions. The programme incorporates action learning activities centred on deal valuation and negotiation, alongside peer-to-peer discussions and networking with professionals from financial services, consulting, and entrepreneurship sectors. Graduates also gain alumni benefits from India's top-ranked Executive Education institution.

Investment professionals completing the programme will be positioned to lead at the intersection of analytical rigour and operational judgement, financial acumen and boardroom leadership. In India's increasingly competitive investment landscape, such capabilities distinguish professionals who will define growth trajectories for their organisations.

Programme specifics include a start date of 30 June 2026, with a 22-week duration delivered entirely online. The fee is INR 4,61,000 plus GST. Eligibility requires a graduate or diploma qualification with a minimum of five years of work experience.
