Hyderabad Metro IRFC Funding Discussions Show Promising Signs: CM Revanth

Hyderabad Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has reported encouraging developments following his discussions with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw regarding financial support for the Hyderabad Metro project.

The Chief Minister traveled to New Delhi for the meeting, which was attended alongside Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy. The primary focus of the engagement centered on exploring funding possibilities through the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) for the metro expansion initiative.

After concluding talks with the Railway Minister, Revanth Reddy addressed the media to share his assessment of the discussions. He characterized the exchange as having proceeded positively and noted that the conversations had provided a sense of optimism concerning IRFC's potential involvement in financing the metro project.

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister indicated plans to continue engagement with the central government on this matter. He announced a scheduled meeting with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for Tuesday morning, during which the dialogue on Hyderabad Metro financing would be pursued further.

The Telangana government remains actively engaged in seeking central support to address critical financing requirements associated with the development and expansion of the Hyderabad Metro system.
