Telangana Governor Leads International Yoga Day Celebration in Hyderabad

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla served as chief guest at the International Yoga Day countdown celebration held at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, underscoring the ancient practice's significance in contemporary wellness.
The event, organized under the direction of Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, drew together elected officials, yoga enthusiasts and residents from across Hyderabad. In his remarks to the assembled crowd, the Governor characterized yoga as an integrated lifestyle approach that brings equilibrium to the physical body, mental faculties and spiritual dimensions.
Shukla called upon citizens to integrate yoga into their everyday practices and acknowledged India's pivotal role in introducing this ancient discipline to global audiences. Beyond the conventional understanding of yoga as physical exercise, the Governor stressed that consistent practice cultivates comprehensive wellness, emotional equilibrium and inner resilience. He advocated for adopting yoga as a sustained personal commitment to enhance overall health and psychological well-being.
The gathering included notable attendees such as former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu and former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. Rajya Sabha members Dr K. Laxman and V. Vijayendra Prasad lent their presence to the occasion, alongside MP Eatala Rajender, BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao and BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy.
The celebration at Parade Grounds witnessed participation from numerous government representatives, administrative officials, yoga instructors and community members, reflecting broad support for promoting yoga as a wellness initiative across the state.
