The telecom infrastructure giant Indus Towers has mobilized emergency assistance for communities ravaged by recent flash floods and landslides across Arunachal Pradesh. The company has begun distributing relief materials to affected residents in Yachuli and Keyi Panyor, marking a significant response to the natural disaster that has left many families displaced and in urgent need of support.

As part of its 'Pragati' corporate social responsibility programme, Indus Towers is providing 330 relief packages containing hygiene products, garments, sanitation materials, medicines, and other essential supplies. The initiative prioritizes vulnerable groups including women, children, elderly persons, and those displaced by the catastrophe.

The relief operation brought together representatives from Indus Towers alongside senior government officials from the region. Shri. Toko Tatung, the Hon'ble HMLA of Yachuli; Smti. Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta (IAS), District Commissioner of Keyi Panyor; Shri. Angad Mehta (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Keyi Panyor; Shri Tajing Padung (APCS), Sub-Divisional Officer of Yachuli; and Ms. Nabam Piju, Zila Parishad Chairperson of Yachuli, coordinated the distribution efforts to ensure affected families received timely assistance.

Rajender Gurung, Circle CEO for the North East and South Asia region at Indus Towers Limited, underscored the company's commitment during the crisis. "In times of emergency, communities require more than material support—they need to know they are not forgotten," Gurung stated. He emphasized that the floods had shattered lives and livelihoods while eroding the security families depend upon. "Our role transcends providing connectivity; we are bound to stand alongside communities during their most difficult hours," he added, expressing hope that the relief would facilitate recovery and restore dignity to affected households.

Toko Tatung acknowledged the significance of coordinated action between government bodies and corporate partners. "The recent floods have placed tremendous burden on families throughout our district, making swift support critical," he remarked. He commended Indus Towers for stepping forward with relief for Yachuli's affected communities, emphasizing that collaboration between governmental agencies and socially conscious businesses strengthens disaster response mechanisms substantially. "This assistance will address the pressing requirements of our most vulnerable residents," he noted.

Indus Towers has positioned this intervention within its broader mission to build community resilience during emergencies. The company has pledged continued collaboration with local authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate relief and recovery in flood-impacted zones.

The ground-level implementation of the relief programme was carried out by North East Affected Area Development Society (NEAID), which serves as Indus Towers' operational partner for this initiative.

Indus Towers operates as India's foremost provider of passive telecom infrastructure, managing a portfolio exceeding 264,514 telecom towers spread across all 22 telecom circles nationwide. The company serves all wireless telecommunications service providers operating in India and has established itself as a pioneer in deploying green energy solutions across its infrastructure operations.

NEAID functions as a community-based organization dedicated to advancing development in the northeastern region, with particular focus on tribal and rural communities. The organization concentrates on enhancing educational quality, healthcare delivery, and other factors contributing to human well-being in accordance with global sustainable development objectives.
