Indian Silk House Agencies Opens Flagship Store in Bhopal, Expands to 68 Locations Nationwide

Bhopal has become the newest destination for Indian Silk House Agencies, a saree retailer recognised as East India's leading brand in the category. The company, which has built its reputation over 54 years, formally opened its doors in the Madhya Pradesh capital this week, reinforcing its commitment to expanding across India's key markets.
The store, situated at Shop No. 1, Upper Ground Floor, E-3/52, Arera Colony, 10 No. Market, spans 1,600 square feet and brings the brand's signature 'Sarees of India' offering to a city steeped in cultural heritage. This represents the company's fourth retail presence in Madhya Pradesh, complementing existing stores in Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur. Nationally, the Bhopal location marks the brand's 68th store.
The retail space features an extensive selection of India's textile traditions. Shoppers will find Bengal's Kantha and Baluchari weaves, Tussar and Matka silks from eastern regions, and South Indian classics including Kanjivaram, Kanchipuram and Arni varieties. The collection also encompasses Banarasi, Katan Banarasi, Ikkat, Bandhej, Paithani and Gadwal sarees, alongside Madhya Pradesh's own Chanderi and Maheshwari silks, each representing distinct regional craftsmanship.
The brand operates through a network of more than 15,000 artisans distributed across 60+ weaving clusters, positioning itself as a connector between traditional craft communities and contemporary consumers. This model aims to preserve heritage textile practices while meeting modern market demands.
Darshan Dudhoria, Chief Executive of Indian Silk House Agencies, outlined the company's strategic direction: "The saree represents one of India's most enduring cultural markers, yet its place in contemporary daily life is evolving. Our mission centres on making sarees relevant to modern Indian women—as integral to everyday wear as to formal occasions. We are committed to curating authentic regional weaves, establishing consumer trust at scale, and presenting them within modern retail settings. The Bhopal expansion exemplifies our broader vision of extending 'Sarees of India' throughout the country while supporting the artisan communities whose work defines this heritage."
The store's design reflects the evolving preferences of today's Indian consumer, balancing respect for traditional craftsmanship with contemporary retail experience. By bringing together regional artisanal traditions, cultural narratives and modern commercial infrastructure, the brand seeks to establish what it describes as India's most comprehensive and trustworthy saree ecosystem.
