IIIT Hyderabad and Athenian Tech Join Forces on AI-Driven Cybersecurity Research

The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad has entered into a strategic partnership with Athenian Tech Private Limited to advance cybersecurity research and education through artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
The two institutions formalised their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding focused on bolstering cyber resilience through coordinated efforts in digital identity protection, threat intelligence systems, and AI-driven security frameworks.
Under the agreement, the partners plan to develop and offer specialised cybersecurity training programmes and conduct workshops targeting both industry professionals and government stakeholders. The initiative also encompasses joint training modules and collaborative efforts to elevate cybersecurity competency levels across sectors.
U Deva Priyakumar and Kanishk Gaur signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Prof. Priyakumar highlighted how the partnership would serve as a bridge connecting academic research endeavours with the practical cybersecurity challenges confronting businesses and institutions in real-world scenarios. Dr Gaur underscored the mounting demand for qualified professionals equipped to address the accelerating pace of cyber threats and safeguard critical digital systems through cutting-edge technological solutions.
The collaboration seeks to strengthen the interface between academic institutions and industry players, particularly in emerging cybersecurity fields where research-driven approaches and hands-on experience converge. Officials anticipate that the partnership will facilitate the creation of sophisticated AI-powered security systems designed to counter contemporary cyber risks threatening both private organisations and government entities.
The initiative will also expose students and working professionals to advanced cybersecurity technologies and contemporary threat response mechanisms. Both parties expressed optimism that this collaborative framework would foster a more resilient cybersecurity landscape and enhance organisational readiness against evolving digital threats.
