Hyderabad Traffic Police Apprehend Man for Operating Vehicle with Fraudulent Number Plate

Hyderabad's traffic enforcement division has successfully busted an operation involving counterfeit vehicle registration plates. During routine checks, officers identified a vehicle bearing a fraudulent registration number and coordinated with Attapur police to make an arrest.
The accused has been identified as Syed Rizwan Ali, who resides in Upparpally within Rajendranagar. Investigators determined that he had been operating his vehicle using the fake registration number MH04KW7706.
According to police, the primary motive behind the scheme was to circumvent traffic violations and the associated penalty notices. The use of the forged plate resulted in legitimate traffic challans being incorrectly attributed to the actual vehicle owner, creating complications for the genuine registered keeper.
Attapur police have registered a formal case under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as the Motor Vehicles Act. The accused received an official notice under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Code of Criminal Procedure.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the authentic registration details of the vehicle in question. Officials have cautioned the public that employing fake or altered number plates constitutes a serious criminal offence with legal consequences.
The traffic police have encouraged residents to report any suspected cases of vehicle registration misuse through multiple channels, including the e-Challan platform, official email correspondence, or the dedicated WhatsApp helpline maintained for public grievances.
