Hyderabad's SHE Teams have achieved convictions in two harassment cases this month, stemming from complaints filed through various channels including WhatsApp, direct petitions, and social media platforms. The cases were pursued under the oversight of IPS officer V.C. Sajjanar.

In the first case, 30-year-old Chinthalapally Naveen Reddy from Karimnagar was found guilty of harassing a woman he knew through repeated phone calls, messages, and blackmail attempts. According to police, he persisted with the harassment even after being cautioned by SHE Teams officials.

The second case involved 28-year-old Gadapa Naresh from Langerhouse in Hyderabad, who targeted unknown women through repeated phone calls and various social media channels. Authorities determined that he had used Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram to harass his victims.

Both accused faced charges under Section 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 70(c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act. When presented before the XI Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally, each was sentenced to two days of simple imprisonment alongside a fine of Rs 1,050.

The Hyderabad SHE Teams have urged women and girls to report incidents of stalking, online harassment, blackmail, and obscene communication. Victims can lodge complaints by calling Dial 100 or using the WhatsApp number 9490616555.
