Hyderabad Police Uncover Contract Killing Plot in Advocate's Death

Hyderabad City Police have made significant progress in the case of advocate Khaja Moizuddin, whose death on May 23 near Masab Tank has been linked to a premeditated murder conspiracy. The incident occurred when a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle struck the advocate as he was heading towards his car following a swimming session near his residence.

The investigation has revealed a contract killing scheme valued at ₹15 lakh, with authorities tracing the conspiracy to an ongoing property dispute centred on Waqf management matters between the deceased and the family of prime accused Mujahid Alam Khan.

Security camera recordings proved instrumental in the inquiry, showing a green Scorpio without registration plates positioned outside Moizuddin's home. The footage documented the moment the vehicle struck the advocate, who subsequently died from his injuries during medical treatment.

A breakthrough in the case came when police apprehended Kishan, also known as Pappu, who was located in Panipat, Haryana. During questioning, he revealed extensive details regarding the conspiracy, including surveillance operations, preparatory phases, and the actual execution of the attack.

Following these disclosures, law enforcement arrested prime accused Mujahid Alam Khan along with his father Mahaboob Alam Khan and multiple associates on May 29. The accused allegedly orchestrated the plot in connection with disputes over Waqf property administration.

Abhijeeth, known as Nani, has been identified as the individual who operated the Scorpio during the crime. Other members of the conspiracy allegedly managed reconnaissance, provided logistical support, and facilitated the escape.

During their operation, police recovered the Scorpio vehicle, ₹10.10 lakh in currency, and numerous mobile phones. The investigation continues as authorities pursue several suspects still at large.

Officers from the Abids Division, including Additional Commissioner of Police P. Praveen Kumar, spearheaded the investigation. Inspector CH Saidulu, Sub-Inspector M.A. Adil Riyaz Khan, and personnel from Nampally Police station contributed to the operation under the direction of senior officials from Hyderabad City Police.
