High-Speed Rail Survey Work Progresses Across Hyderabad Corridors

Ground-level survey work for the ambitious bullet train projects linking Hyderabad with Chennai and Bengaluru has now moved into an active phase, with teams systematically mapping out alignment corridors across the region.

Over the past ten days, survey personnel have been conducting detailed fieldwork in Rangareddy district while extending operations into Nalgonda and Vikarabad districts. The teams are employing red and white reference markers to identify proposed alignments, establish survey points, and pinpoint areas where land acquisition may become necessary.

The Chennai-bound corridor is slated to traverse through Shamshabad, Maheshwaram, Kandukur and Yacharam mandals before proceeding into Nampally mandal within Nalgonda district. The Bengaluru-bound route, by contrast, will pass through Shamshabad and Shabad mandals.

Marking operations have already been completed in several villages within Yacharam mandal, including Kurmidda, Medipalli, Mankisgudem, Takkallapalli, Chintapatla, Nallavelli, Mandana and Gourelli.

This ground-level initiative follows an earlier aerial survey that formed part of the feasibility assessment phase. Authorities subsequently accelerated the pace of on-site investigations to move toward route confirmation.

The ongoing field survey represents a critical step in establishing the definitive alignment for both proposed corridors. Once the survey reaches completion, officials expect to have clear information regarding final station placements and the full scope of land that will require acquisition for project implementation.
