HMWSSB Clarifies No Water Supply Disruption at NIMS Hospital

Hyderabad — The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has issued a formal statement refuting allegations that NIMS Hospital experienced disruptions in water supply, asserting that the medical facility has maintained normal operations.
In its clarification, the board emphasized that drinking water flows to the hospital without any breaks in service.
The HMWSSB operates a dedicated 300 mm feeder line that supplies water to the hospital from the Banjara Hills GLSR facility. Within the hospital campus, two independent 100 mm bulk connections feed separate sumps, creating a redundant system that ensures consistent water availability.
The board stated it has sustained uninterrupted drinking water access throughout the year and denied conducting any valve operations that would affect the supply reaching the facility. Officials also noted that reservoir levels at Banjara Hills remain at adequate levels.
The HMWSSB underscored that it bears responsibility for water delivery to the hospital premises, while NIMS authorities manage internal distribution networks, consumption patterns, and day-to-day operational requirements within the hospital grounds.
Reiterating its position, the board dismissed reports of water supply interruptions and called on the public to seek information only from official and verified sources.
