HEINEKEN Inaugurates First Asia-Pacific Business Services Centre in Hyderabad
HEINEKEN has inaugurated its Business Services (HBS) India Centre in Hyderabad, representing a pivotal development in the multinational's worldwide restructuring efforts and underlining India's growing significance in driving HEINEKEN's expansion over the coming years.
The establishment aligns with HEINEKEN's mission of Brewing the Joy of Togetherness to inspire a better world and its EverGreen 2030 strategic framework. The facility will enhance the company's worldwide service capabilities, foster more agile operational models, and equip HEINEKEN's international operations with future-ready infrastructure.
The opening ceremony brought together top executives from HEINEKEN and United Breweries Limited (UBL), alongside Telangana's Minister for Industries & Commerce, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications and Legislative Affairs, Sri D. Sridhar Babu, and Minister for Prohibition & Excise; Tourism & Culture and Archaeology, Sri Jupally Krishna Rao, as Guests of Honour. Additional senior state officials and representatives from diplomatic missions were present, reflecting the strategic importance of this investment and Hyderabad's status as an emerging destination for international business services and technology innovation.
This centre constitutes HEINEKEN's fourth business services hub globally and represents the company's inaugural operation in Asia Pacific. It aims to consolidate specialised functions and eliminate redundancies throughout the organisation, delivering standardised frameworks, procedures and protocols globally while maintaining flexibility to address regional requirements through a balanced glocal approach.
Operating from Hyderabad, the HBS India Centre will serve HEINEKEN's business across Asia Pacific and specific operations in Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The centre will provide services spanning financial management, sourcing, logistics, human resources, and enterprise-level capabilities in digital technology, analytics and process improvement. India through UBL and Singapore will function as initial test markets and primary recipients of the centre's service offerings.
Spanning 76,000 square feet, the facility incorporates modern design elements including ergonomic workstations, collaborative open spaces, and recreational zones engineered to boost employee productivity. This centre forms a significant component of HEINEKEN's broader expansion blueprint for Business Services, projected to generate around 3,000 positions across all HBS facilities worldwide by 2030.
Ákos Magyari, Senior Director of HBS, stated: "EverGreen 2030 is transforming HEINEKEN into a more integrated, robust and forward-thinking enterprise. The establishment of HBS India marks a crucial advancement in reinforcing our worldwide service infrastructure and expanding our presence in a market of paramount strategic value. Building upon our established operations through United Breweries Limited, this centre positions India as a pivotal element in our international services architecture; fostering standardised operational approaches, performance optimisation and sustainable value generation. India's demographic strength, workforce capabilities, and technological advancement will be instrumental in supporting HEINEKEN's long-term sustainable growth on the global stage."
Vineeth Suresh, Director and India Head of HBS, remarked: "The commencement of HBS India demonstrates HEINEKEN's robust commitment to India as a permanent strategic collaborator in its global transformation initiative. Leveraging the established groundwork of UBL, the Hyderabad facility unites top-tier professionals, international benchmarks and an inclusive work environment to provide superior, integrated services across operations. Functioning as a regional centre serving Asia Pacific and neighbouring regions, it will be instrumental in advancing operational standardisation, productivity gains, and continuous improvement across all markets."
