Telangana's Haritha Nidhi Projects Must Meet Deadlines, Quality Standards: Forest Minister

Hyderabad — Telangana's Forest, Environment and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has pressed officials to expedite the delivery of Haritha Nidhi projects on schedule, while upholding rigorous quality standards throughout execution.

Surekha chaired the seventh state-level Haritha Nidhi committee meeting at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, where she evaluated ongoing project progress and cleared multiple fresh proposals focused on environmental conservation and forest management.

The committee gave its approval to initiatives spanning nursery creation, urban green spaces, forest protection, forestry research, capacity-building initiatives, public education campaigns, and eco-tourism ventures.

"Haritha Nidhi has emerged as a vital mechanism for environmental stewardship across Telangana," Surekha remarked, emphasizing the state government's commitment to safeguarding forest ecosystems and expanding vegetation cover in cities.

She stressed that effective implementation of every initiative would be crucial to creating a sustainable environment for coming generations. The minister directed officials to ensure that both existing and newly sanctioned projects are completed within their defined timeframes, while adhering strictly to quality protocols during all stages of work.

Surekha further instructed officials to structure projects in ways that deliver tangible advantages to local populations and maintain complete transparency in their rollout. She underscored the government's dedication to preserving forest resources, protecting biodiversity, and fostering eco-tourism expansion.

The minister highlighted that eco-tourism growth could generate meaningful employment for youth in surrounding communities. She called on officials to maintain collaborative efforts to successfully realize Haritha Nidhi's core goals.
