Hyderabad: Telangana's Gurukul residential schools have achieved a remarkable 99.12% pass rate in the 2026 SSC examinations, representing a significant educational achievement. Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar announced the results on Thursday, noting that 16,921 students successfully cleared the examinations out of 17,071 who sat for the tests.

The Minister attributed the exceptional performance to systemic transformation, consistent oversight, and comprehensive administrative changes. He highlighted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's role in strengthening the residential education infrastructure, emphasizing that concrete outcomes, rather than mere statements, demonstrate effective governance.

Widespread Success Across Institutions

The results demonstrate widespread institutional excellence. Among 235 Gurukul institutions evaluated, 163 achieved a 100% pass rate. Additionally, all Gurukul schools across nine districts reported complete success in the SSC examinations.

Performance in intermediate-level studies also remained strong. Second-year intermediate students achieved an 88.22% pass rate, with 41 institutions recording perfect results. First-year intermediate students secured a 77.79% pass rate, with 12 institutions achieving 100% success.

Gurukul students also demonstrated competitive exam prowess, with 441 qualifying in JEE Mains 2026. Of these, 35 students scored above the 90 percentile mark, underscoring their readiness for advanced technical education.

Student-Centric Learning Framework

The Minister credited the strong outcomes to a student-focused educational approach. Institutions implemented personalized attention mechanisms, structured curricula, and consistent evaluation systems. Daily study sessions, doubt-clearing classes, and comprehensive revision programmes formed part of the routine.

Targeted coaching initiatives supported students facing academic challenges, while a comprehensive tracking system ensured consistent progress monitoring. Schools adopted a "Basic to Advanced" learning model, utilizing real-time performance dashboards and analytical tools to assess student development. Teachers employed data-driven corrections to address learning gaps promptly.

The Minister commended teaching staff for their dedication, noting their accessibility to students and commitment to their overall development.

Comprehensive Support Systems

Beyond academics, the government strengthened welfare measures supporting student success. Enhanced nutrition programmes, funded through increased mess allocations, provided protein-rich meals that improved both attendance and student health. Cosmetic allowances were raised to support personal hygiene and student confidence.

Infrastructure improvements included upgraded hostels, digitally-equipped classrooms, modern laboratories, and expanded sports facilities. Mental health initiatives, including stress management workshops and counselling services, addressed the psychological dimensions of student development. Administrative transparency in financial management ensured timely payments and fiscal discipline.

Growing Institutional Trust

The Minister noted that rising admission numbers reflect increasing parental confidence in Gurukul institutions. Pass rate improvements compared to previous years further validate the effectiveness of current educational practices.

Scheduled Caste hostels recorded notable performance, with 8,060 students appearing and 7,666 passing, achieving a 95.11% pass rate. Mulugu district's SC hostels achieved 100% success. Among SC hostel students, 195 scored above 91%, while 1,416 secured marks between 81% and 90%.

Tribal Ashram Schools similarly delivered strong performance, with numerous institutions achieving perfect pass rates across examinations.

Future Vision

The government remains committed to elevating Gurukul institutions into premier educational destinations nationally. The focus continues on delivering quality education to economically disadvantaged students while maintaining systemic excellence.

The Minister recognized students who achieved distinction in SSC, intermediate, and JEE Mains examinations during the announcement.
