Hyderabad: A swift response by Goshamahal Police resulted in the safe recovery and reunion of a mentally challenged woman with her family on May 20.

The incident came to the attention of authorities at approximately 5:50 pm when officers received reports of a woman in distress in the Joshiwadi locality. SI Laxmiah led the rescue operation, accompanied by women police constables Vimala and Divya, along with Home Guard Revana Swamy.

Upon arrival at the scene, the team took immediate steps to ensure the woman's safety and dignity. Local residents provided a saree, which the officers used to clothe her appropriately. The woman's personal belongings, including a gold chain, were secured by the police.

Given her mental health condition, the woman was unable to communicate her identity or provide information about her family. Officers transported her to the police station and circulated her photograph to aid in identification efforts.

The breakthrough came through investigative work conducted at Osmania General Hospital. Home Guard Revana Swamy's inquiries at the facility revealed that the woman had been reported missing from the hospital premises. This lead proved crucial in establishing her identity and locating her family members.

Police subsequently contacted the woman's son, who came to the station to verify her identity. Following confirmation, the authorities completed the reunion process, returning the woman safely to her family's care.
