Hyderabad's municipal administration carried out a ground-level assessment of Census operations this week, with GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, who also serves as Principal Census Officer, visiting enumeration sites in the Shamshabad area.

The Commissioner's inspection focused on House Listing Blocks 29 and 30 situated behind Market Lane in Tukkuguda. During his visit, Karnan examined how Census teams were conducting household surveys and tracked the progress of the listing phase.

Throughout the inspection, the Commissioner held discussions with field enumerators and their supervisory counterparts. He reviewed the verification mechanisms in place and assessed the punctuality and operational efficiency of the teams working on the ground.

Officials briefed Karnan on the comprehensive door-to-door data collection drive underway and the rollout of Census and Special Intensive Revision initiatives.

Emphasis on Quality and Accountability

Addressing the teams, Karnan underscored the critical importance of maintaining accuracy and systematic approaches in gathering Census data to ensure the exercise proceeds without impediments. He instructed officials to maintain close oversight of staff attendance and work performance throughout field operations.

The Commissioner set clear expectations for teams to complete all enumeration activities within the prescribed timeframe. He also called for field personnel to strengthen coordination efforts and execute rigorous verification checks during household visits, stressing that maintaining stringent data quality protocols would help prevent inaccuracies in both Census and electoral revision processes.

Following the Commissioner's visit, enumeration and verification work resumed across multiple zones within the Shamshabad Circle jurisdiction.
