Gujarat Guardian Limited Breaks Ground on Expanded Glass Manufacturing Facility in Ankleshwar

Gujarat Guardian Limited (GGL), a partnership between Guardian Industries and Modi Rubber Limited, has initiated groundbreaking ceremonies for a new float glass production line and wet coater facility at its manufacturing complex in Ankleshwar, representing a substantial expansion of India's glass production infrastructure.
The facility will incorporate an energy-efficient air-fuel fired float glass line capable of producing 1,000 metric tons daily upon completion, projected for mid-2028. This addition will enable the manufacture of diverse glass thicknesses and larger dimensions, aimed at optimizing customer yield and operational efficiency.
"This groundbreaking represents an important development in our expansion strategy within India," stated Guus Boekhoudt, Executive Vice President at Guardian Glass. "Beyond simply increasing production volumes, this investment brings cutting-edge technology, enhances supply chain dependability, and provides customers with superior, specialized glass products."
The wet coater installation will have an annual production capacity of 72,000 metric tons and will incorporate state-of-the-art mirror manufacturing technology. The equipment will support both single and double paint coating applications, complemented by fully mechanized systems for handling, packaging, and distribution to maximize output and maintain uniform quality standards.
Once operational, the Ankleshwar complex will function as an integrated manufacturing center for float glass, mirror products, and specialty coated glass items, strengthening supply availability and rapid response capabilities for customers throughout India.
By consolidating sophisticated manufacturing operations at a unified site, GGL seeks to reinforce its position as a dependable supplier to India's expanding construction and infrastructure development sectors, while creating sustained advantages for customers and investors alike.
