Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh's Desh Foundation arranged an exclusive cinema experience for more than 200 young cancer patients and childhood cancer survivors on Tuesday, May 12, at INOX PVR in Mumbai. The children, currently undergoing treatment through the ImPaCCT Foundation at Tata Memorial Centre, were brought together for a day centered on celebration, inspiration, and entertainment.

The couple's production venture, Mumbai Film Company, has established itself as a creator of purposeful narratives that connect with viewers. The company's earlier productions — Balak Palak, Yellow, Lai Bhaari, and Ved — have demonstrated its commitment to storytelling grounded in emotional depth, cultural significance, and human fortitude. Raja Shivaji continues this trajectory of meaningful cinema.

The event was conceived as a respite for these young patients and their families from the rigors of ongoing medical care. The screening offered the children an opportunity for entertainment, laughter, and shared moments, creating lasting memories away from the hospital setting.

A particularly poignant element of the occasion involved Shiv More, himself a childhood cancer survivor, who attended dressed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His appearance symbolized the qualities of courage, perseverance, and victory over hardship — embodying the spirit of determination displayed by each child present.

The ImPaCCT Foundation at Tata Memorial Centre expressed appreciation to Desh Foundation, Genelia, and Riteish Deshmukh for their empathy and sustained commitment to bringing hope and joy to children facing cancer. The actors spent time with the young attendees prior to the film's start, enhancing the personal nature of the gathering.

The initiative underscored how acts of compassion, combined with entertainment and community, possess the capacity to elevate morale and reinforce to young patients that they are valued, supported, and supported in their journey.
