GAIL Utkarsh Super 80 in Varanasi Achieves Perfect Record; All 30 JEE Main Students Advance

In a notable achievement for women's education in India, GAIL Utkarsh Super 80 in Varanasi has announced that its entire cohort of 30 students has successfully qualified for JEE Advanced following their performance in JEE Main 2026. This marks the second consecutive year the programme has achieved a 100% success rate.
The exceptional results include five students crossing the 95 percentile mark. Centre topper Janhavi Gupta led the performance with a score of 98.43 percentile.
Established in 2021 and operated by the Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL), the Varanasi facility functions as a fully funded residential coaching centre offering 11 months of intensive preparation. The programme serves 30 girls preparing for JEE examinations alongside 50 students preparing for NEET. Admission follows a merit-based selection process prioritising talented students from rural regions and economically disadvantaged families with annual household incomes not exceeding ₹4 lakhs.
The initiative represents GAIL (India) Limited's corporate social responsibility commitment to expanding access to quality engineering education. The Varanasi centre is the organization's first dedicated all-girls residential facility, though the broader GAIL Utkarsh programme has earlier iterations. The initiative began in Kanpur in 2009, initially focusing on JEE coaching for boys. A subsequent expansion to Haldwani in 2018 broadened the scope to include both male and female students.
Since its launch, the Varanasi centre has supported 121 girls over its operational period. Of these, 25 have secured admission to IITs, 33 to NITs, and 50 to state engineering colleges across India.
The programme aligns with national objectives around inclusive growth and women-led development by strengthening women's representation in STEM fields through mentorship and comprehensive support systems.
