Telangana's LPG Supply Remains Stable, Oil Companies Dismiss Shortage Concerns

Hyderabad — Oil Marketing Companies have moved to reassure residents that liquefied petroleum gas distribution throughout Telangana is functioning normally with sufficient stock to handle existing demand, while dismissing circulating rumours of supply problems.

A state-level coordinator representing the OMCs stated that public sector oil companies are maintaining close oversight of supply chains. Officials further indicated that measures are underway to enhance logistical efficiency and accelerate the pace of deliveries statewide.

During the opening half of May, petrol availability in Telangana climbed by 14.2 per cent. In the same timeframe, diesel distribution increased by 15.7 per cent.

The OMCs attributed a decline in domestic LPG bookings to the summer months, though they stressed that consumers have not engaged in stockpiling cylinders out of concern. Through mid-May, 20.06 lakh domestic LPG cylinders reached consumers across Telangana, with officials characterizing this as typical seasonal distribution.

Delivery Authentication System Bolsters Supply Chain

Oil companies are promoting various booking methods including SMS, missed calls, IVRS systems, and digital platforms for cylinder orders. They are also calling on customers to participate in the "Delivery Authentication Code" initiative.

The DAC system employs one-time password verification at the point of delivery. Officials explained that this authentication framework was designed to curb illegal diversion and guarantee that genuine customers receive their supplies.

Telangana has achieved over 95 per cent compliance with the DAC system, with ongoing efforts to achieve universal implementation statewide.

The OMCs have appealed to the public to rely exclusively on verified information channels and avoid spreading or accepting unverified claims concerning fuel and LPG distribution.
