Telangana Launches Free UPSC Coaching Initiative for Minority Community Students

Hyderabad: In a move to enhance opportunities for underrepresented communities, the Telangana Minorities Study Circle has unveiled a free UPSC coaching initiative targeting minority students aspiring to clear the Civil Services Examination in 2027. Operating under the Department of Minorities Welfare, this scheme will function throughout the 2026–27 academic year with the goal of delivering comprehensive preparation and mentorship to qualifying candidates.
Programme Features and Support Structure
The initiative will furnish participants with digital learning platforms alongside guidance from seasoned educators. Students will gain access to library resources and internet connectivity as part of the comprehensive support system. Officials are also exploring residential arrangements for selected participants. Entry into the programme will be determined through a competitive merit-based assessment.
The scheme incorporates inclusive provisions, reserving one-third of available positions for women participants. Additionally, five percent of seats have been earmarked for candidates with physical disabilities.
Application Timeline and Test Details
Prospective applicants can begin submitting their online forms from May 7, with the registration window closing on May 31. The merit assessment examination is scheduled for June 14 at various centres. New applicants are required to take the test at designated examination venues.
Testing locations have been established at minority residential educational institutions situated in district administrative centres throughout Telangana.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must belong to one of the recognised minority communities—Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, or Parsi. Applicants should possess either a general or professional degree qualification.
The household income ceiling stands at Rs. 5 lakh annually. Admission will ultimately hinge on performance in the screening examination.
Eligible individuals can complete their applications via the dedicated online platform. The helpline remains available during business hours to address queries and provide guidance to interested participants.
