Mass Illness Strikes Mahabubnagar After Consumption of Contaminated Wedding Food

A food poisoning incident in New Moti Nagar, Mahabubnagar, has resulted in the hospitalisation of 29 people, among them 17 minors and a woman who is expecting. The outbreak occurred after residents of a nearby slum consumed leftover food from a wedding celebration that had been shared with the community.

The afflicted individuals began experiencing symptoms on Friday and were subsequently transferred to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital for medical care. Hospital staff continues to provide treatment and monitor the patients' progress closely.

Authorities have begun a formal inquiry into the incident to ascertain the nature of the contamination and whether the food supplied was indeed unsafe for consumption. Both law enforcement and health department officials are involved in the investigation.

Former minister Srinivas Goud made a visit to the Government Hospital to check on the patients' wellbeing. During his visit, he urged medical personnel to ensure the affected individuals receive comprehensive care and maintain vigilant oversight of their recovery process.
