Central Government Funding Critical for Village Panchayats, Says Malkajgiri MP

Hyderabad — The Malkajgiri Member of Parliament has underscored the reliance of rural local bodies in Telangana on funding disbursed by the central government, pushing back against detractors of the Union administration.
Etala Rajender made these remarks on Friday while overseeing preparations for a BJP public gathering at Parade Grounds. He asserted that residents across the state were keen to see the BJP assume power in the state.
The BJP legislator addressed questions raised by certain political figures regarding the benefits that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has delivered to Telangana. In response, he stressed that rural panchayats continue to operate today thanks to central financial support.
Rajender further questioned how the state could obtain necessary resources without the Centre's backing, emphasizing that federal assistance remains indispensable for the operation of local governance institutions across Telangana.
The MP launched criticism at both the former BRS administration and the incumbent Congress government. He contended that voters had already turned away from the "authoritarian governance" of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. Additionally, he suggested that the Congress administration headed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is witnessing mounting public dissatisfaction even within its first two-and-a-half years in office.
Rajender predicted that voters would firmly reject Revanth Reddy in forthcoming elections, drawing comparisons to the electoral outcomes witnessed in West Bengal.
The BJP leader outlined the party's electoral roadmap for Telangana, stating that the immediate priority is the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. Subsequently, the party intends to focus on ZPTC, MPTC and Assembly elections.
