Malkajgiri MP Urges Municipal Commissioner to Install Streetlights on Ghatkesar-Keesara Road

Hyderabad: Following concerns raised by local residents, Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender has petitioned MMC Commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy to expedite the installation of streetlights along the Ghatkesar-Keesara road.

The initiative came after representatives from the Ghatkesar Democratic Senior Citizens Welfare Association approached the MP with complaints about inadequate lighting on the stretch. Members of the association highlighted a troubling pattern of nighttime road accidents that they attributed directly to the absence of proper illumination.

The road serves as a major route for pilgrims visiting the Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy temple at Keesaragutta, drawing significant vehicular traffic throughout the day and night. The association emphasized that poor road visibility poses considerable risks to motorists navigating the route after dark, making the installation of streetlights a safety priority.

In his letter to the municipal commissioner, Etala Rajender stressed the urgency of implementing lighting infrastructure on the road. The MP called on authorities to take swift action to enhance safety for the numerous commuters and devotees who regularly travel the route to reach the temple.
