Errabelli Swarna Accuses Kavitha of Selective Criticism, Deflecting from BRS Record

Hyderabad: Errabelli Swarna, President of the State Mahila Congress, has launched a sharp critique of K. Kavitha, contending that the BRS leader ought to have scrutinised irregularities during the previous BRS administration rather than directing attacks at the current government.

Speaking on the matter, Swarna asserted that Kavitha would have commanded greater public credibility had she raised questions about actions undertaken during the tenure of her father, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. Swarna pointed out that citizens are well aware of which political figures have exploited their positions for personal interests.

The Mahila Congress leader further charged that Kavitha was weaponising Telangana pride for electoral advantage. She argued that such rhetoric would fail to gain traction among voters who have closely monitored the state's political landscape.

Swarna also took issue with Kavitha's recent critiques of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's administration, highlighting an apparent contradiction. She noted that Kavitha had previously expressed favourable views regarding the present government before shifting to an oppositional stance.

According to Swarna, Kavitha lacks the standing to comment on matters pertaining to Telangana's dignity while, in her view, evading responsibility for historical allegations. She stressed that raising concerns about corruption ought not be misconstrued as an assault on the state's interests.

The Congress leader underscored that substantive political debate must prioritise questions of governance and accountability over appeals to sentiment. She emphasised that voters would ultimately assess leaders on the basis of their track record and conduct.

These comments are part of an ongoing political contest between Congress and BRS figures in Telangana, with both sides levelling competing accusations regarding administrative performance and historical governance.
