Election Commission Grants Approval to K. Kavitha's New Political Party, Telangana Rakshana Sena

Hyderabad — K. Kavitha's newly formed political outfit has received formal recognition from the Election Commission under the name Telangana Rakshana Sena. The regulatory body issued official orders approving the party designation, which was subsequently handed to Kavitha at her home in Banjara Hills on Thursday.

The party name was initially announced as Telangana Rashtra Sena during an event held at Advaya Convention in Medchal on April 25. Following the announcement, the Election Commission recommended modifications to the proposed designation, leading to the revised name that ultimately received clearance.

Election Commission representatives made a personal visit to Kavitha's residence to convey the formal approval communication, formalising the party's status as a registered political entity.

Political analysts have noted that the establishment of this new political formation could reshape the state's political dynamics. The development has also drawn attention given the historical connection of the TRS acronym to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which underwent a name change previously.

Kavitha has indicated her intention to expand the party's footprint across Telangana following its official registration. At present, the party has not disclosed details regarding its leadership positions, strategic direction, or plans for political engagement.

The Election Commission's approval now permits the party to operate as a legitimate political organisation under Kavitha's stewardship.
