Dubbaka MLA Pushes for Swift Distribution of Completed Housing Units

Hyderabad: At a housing sector review convened by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy at the Housing Development Corporation headquarters in Himayatnagar on Thursday, Dubbaka MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy pressed the state administration to accelerate the handover of completed 2BHK dwellings to deserving residents within his constituency.
The meeting drew participation from Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, various legislators, Members of Parliament, MLCs, district administrators, and housing department representatives from the former Medak district.
According to the MLA, construction has been finished for double-bedroom residences across seven mandals, with certain beneficiaries already residing in these units for approximately two to two-and-a-half years. In the Toguta mandal region, along with Doultabad, Dubbaka, and Akbarpet localities, more than 1,000 housing units have reached completion. Kotha Prabhakar Reddy called for officials to promptly identify qualifying beneficiaries and issue allotment certificates without further delay.
The legislator flagged growing infrastructure concerns, noting that some structures have begun deteriorating as a result of prolonged allotment postponements. Additional damage has occurred in certain units due to insufficient upkeep. He requested a thorough examination covering contractor performance, outstanding construction tasks, financial settlements, and development progress across all project sites, emphasizing that numerous locations still require doors, windows, road connectivity, and other essential amenities.
Within Dubbaka municipality boundaries alone, approximately 400 to 500 dwellings remain unallocated. The MLA sought a comprehensive status document detailing incomplete construction phases and specific issues affecting individual housing units.
Kotha Prabhakar Reddy proposed that the housing minister personally visit the region to present certificates to beneficiaries, suggesting this gesture would strengthen community trust in the government's commitment. He additionally requested a dedicated meeting with the district collector focusing on unresolved housing matters affecting Dubbaka and the wider Medak district.
The numbers reveal significant gaps in the allocation pipeline. Of 1,081 housing units sanctioned across the seven mandals, approval has been granted for 610 units, leaving 471 in a pending state. Construction has yet to commence on an additional 262 units. The MLA urged rapid completion of outstanding tasks following a comprehensive assessment by the Siddipet district administration. He also requested the allotment of 200 supplementary Indiramma houses to Dubbaka constituency under the programme's second phase.
Furthermore, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy sought government sanction for Tahsildar office structures in the newly established mandals of Rayapole, Akbarpet-Bhoompalli, and Narsingi. The housing minister responded positively to this request during the meeting.
