Telangana to Roll Out Digital Health Cards for Government Staff on Formation Day

Hyderabad — The Telangana government is preparing to introduce digital health cards for its workforce and retirees, with the rollout scheduled for June 2 on Telangana Formation Day.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued instructions during a Joint Staff Council meeting held Friday at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat to ensure the initiative moves forward. The gathering was convened at the direction of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
The meeting brought together representatives from multiple government employee unions who voiced concerns on a range of matters affecting the workforce. Topics covered included the Pay Revision Commission report, health card implementation, outstanding payments owed to employees, service-related issues, staff transfers, and provisions under GO 317.
During the discussions, Ramakrishna Rao instructed senior officials to address non-financial concerns raised by union representatives wherever feasible. He also noted that work was progressing to secure the PRC report and that the commission remained actively engaged in expediting its delivery.
The Chief Secretary additionally mandated that Joint Staff Council meetings be organized at both district and directorate tiers throughout the state. He urged union leaders to operate in accordance with government directives while meeting public expectations, and encouraged them to leverage technology to better serve citizens.
Several senior officials participated in the meeting, including Special Chief Secretaries Mahesh Dutt Ekka and Savyasachi Ghosh, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Education Principal Secretary Dr Yogita Rana, and Health, Medical and Family Welfare Principal Secretary Dr Christina Z. Chongthu.
TNGO president Maram Jagadeeshwar, TGO president Eluri Srinivasa Rao, and representatives from various employee associations were also in attendance.
