Hyderabad — Taking charge as Telangana's new Director General of Police, CV Anand has issued directives requiring all Superintendents of Police and Commissioners of Police to stay within their respective districts rather than travel to the state capital.

In a departure from established protocol, the newly appointed DGP has instructed district-level officers to forgo customary courtesy visits to Hyderabad that typically follow their postings. Instead, he has mandated that all SPs and CPs remain at their district headquarters on Thursday morning and continue their oversight of law and order operations.

Anand has urged police officers to prioritise their responsibilities in the field and minimise unnecessary travel. The DGP has conveyed that he will meet with officials at an appropriate time in the future, rather than requiring them to make the journey to the capital.

The move reflects Anand's commitment to strengthening administration at the district level and maintaining consistent supervision of policing operations throughout Telangana. Senior police officials characterise the directive as emblematic of the new DGP's focus on operational efficiency and accountability-centred governance.

By keeping officers stationed in their districts, Anand aims to ensure uninterrupted attention to law and order maintenance across the state. The directive underscores his belief that effective policing requires sustained presence and engagement at the ground level rather than administrative formalities at headquarters.
