Health Minister Pledges Transparent Transfer Process for Medical Professionals

Hyderabad: During a meeting at the Secretariat on Monday, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha assured medical professionals that departmental transfers would be managed with full transparency while complying with GO 38 guidelines set by the government.

The discussion brought together senior officials from the Health Department alongside representatives from the Government Doctors Association to address concerns about the upcoming transfer exercise.

The association raised several key points during the dialogue. Medical practitioners sought an offline transfer mechanism that would maintain transparency, drawing comparison to how such exercises had been conducted previously. They also requested that office holders within the association be exempted from the transfer process.

Additionally, the doctors' representatives advocated for including medical professionals who had completed a minimum of two years in their current postings within the transfer pool. They also expressed interest in facilitating movement for doctors stationed at district-level medical colleges to secure positions at colleges located in Hyderabad.

Rajanarsimha responded to these concerns by reaffirming the government's commitment to implementing transfers in accordance with GO 38 requirements. He emphasized that the state was investing in strengthening medical education infrastructure and modernizing hospital facilities to enhance healthcare delivery across Telangana. The minister highlighted that physician participation and support would be essential for realizing these developmental goals.

The minister noted that the transfer exercise would take into account the operational needs of both educational institutions and healthcare facilities. He provided assurance that the continuity of administrative functions, academic programs, and clinical care would be maintained throughout the transition period.

Rajanarsimha also indicated that medical practitioners who had spent extended periods serving in district-level hospitals and colleges would be given consideration and opportunities during the transfer process.
