Cyberabad Police Apprehend 29 Suspects in Week-Long Women's Safety Operation

Hyderabad's Cyberabad Police have intensified their efforts to protect women's safety, with specialized enforcement teams apprehending 29 individuals accused of indecent conduct in public spaces during a seven-day operation.
Between May 23 and May 30, the SHE Teams executed 104 decoy operations across multiple locations in the commissionerate, resulting in the detention of suspects at the scene. The operation led to the registration of 37 petty cases, while additional individuals received counselling. During this same period, the teams documented 20 complaints lodged by women through various reporting channels.
In parallel operations, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) secured the release of four trafficking victims and arrested one individual under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). The city's Family Counselling and CDEW Centres successfully facilitated reconciliation for 39 families navigating marital difficulties.
Expanding its preventive mandate, the SHE Teams and AHTU rolled out educational initiatives reaching 1,844 participants throughout the week. These awareness sessions addressed critical concerns including online safety, human trafficking of children, stalking behaviour, digital harassment, cyber fraud, child protection rights and emergency contact information.
The Society for Cyberabad Security Council, collaborating with Thomson Reuters, hosted a "Bring Your Child to Work" programme in Madhapur that drew more than 50 children and parents. The event featured interactive workshops centred on personal protection, digital literacy and ethical social media practices.
Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Srujana, heading the Women and Child Safety Wing, addressed participants, urging young people to pursue their aspirations with assurance. She underscored that law enforcement agencies remain committed to providing support and safeguarding whenever citizens require assistance.
